Oneida County will likely remain the state leader is sales tax, at a rate of 8.75 for at least the next 2 years. “On a $2 cup of coffee, it’s an extra 18 cents; on a $20,000 car, it adds $1,750 to the sticker price.”

“Organizers getting ready to give folks a Taste of Syracuse say they may seriously reconsider the future of its sister event in Utica. That’s because the city’s common council approved legislation that would allow it to collect a percentage of profits from events held on city property, like the Taste of Utica held in Hanna Park.”
